Hi!

You should see the smile on my face now I am living technology life to its fullest again. I might be in an empty house with no furniture - just moved back from South Africa to Belgium, but my internet connection is working and it's BROOOOAAAAADBAND.

Of course Cape Town comes with a few undeniable perks - flip flops, sun and the resulting tan, beach walks, amazing views (see pic below) etc, but up/download speed is not one of them.

You can say that I've been around. I started my career at OgilvyDirect Belgium in 1992 where I learned the business of customer relationship, direct and integrated marketing. In 1995 I became the Benelux Direct and Online Communications Manager for Microsoft. Although I'm a Mac freak now, I still love the Softies. Missing agency life I returned to Ogilvy in 1998 as the European Client Service Director for IBM Software, based in Paris managing the account internationally and across disciplines. La douce France!

In 2000 I became Ogilvy’s first Global Knowledge Manager based in New York and turned Truffles, Ogilvy’s intranet, into a great resource for 11,000 employees in 474 offices around the world. In 2003 I crossed the ocean again and joined the Ogilvy EAME team, supporting OgilvyOne offices in more than 20 countries. I also became the Ogilvy Telco Task Force Leader, facilitating knowledge sharing between teams of Ogilvy’s 40 Telco clients worldwide.

Keen to be part of developing great work for clients again and pursuing my love for amazing Africa, I joined OgilvyOne Cape Town in 2005 as the Customer and Digital Strategy Director, combining it with the role of EAME Digital Leader. Now back in a full time regional role and on a ‘digital mission’, today I aim to enthuse colleagues and clients on how the digital democracy offers advertisers and agencies so many more opportunities to play a bigger role in consumers’ lives.  Facilitating international and cross-discipline communities of Ogilvy’s digital leaders and fans, I hope to contribute to making Ogilvy a 21st Century Marketing force to continue to reckon with.

Oh, not bringing any gadgets to Stream as they are all on a boat from South Africa to Belgium... except if I can bring my man, not that he is a gadget in every sense, but he's a mac magician and such a gadget freak we have a special cupboard to hold them all!  This is him 'assuring' the iphone works on the Proximus network in Belgium (it normally can't).

Here is me in my previous home - I can tell you, damn hard to be back in Belgium!

Get connected with me on Linkedin or with me on Facebook or on Skype (patou.n). Not giving you my second life or zwinky and habbo connection as I'm either not wearing a lot of clothes or looking like a 12-year old :-)
